Who can receive and use EMDRIA Credit?

EMDRIA Credit can be awarded to anyone who attends a workshop offering EMDRIA Credit. EMDRIA Credit can only be used by those who are fully trained in EMDR (i.e. have completed an EMDRIA approved basic training).  Twelve (12) EMDRIA Credits are required for first time Certification and Approved Consultant applicants and also for those who want to maintain their Certification or Approved Consultant status.

If I repeat a workshop, can I use both workshops towards my application or renewal?

No. If a participant repeats a workshop, they cannot use that same exact workshop towards their application or renewal. So for example, if a participant attended Treating Trauma with EMDR Therapy  on January 9, 2018 with presenter Joe Johnson and received 6 EMDRIA Credits, the participant cannot retake that same workshop with the same presenter and use their attendance at both workshops to apply or renew their Certification or Approved Consultant status.

Can EMDRIA Credit be awarded to speakers for their workshop presentation?

No. Speakers cannot receive EMDRIA Credit for presenting. EMDRIA Credit is intended for the learner.

Can partial EMDRIA Credit be awarded if a participant is not able to attend the full presentation?

No. Participants must attend the entire workshop presentation in order to receive EMDRIA Credit.

Can EMDRIA Credit be awarded for EMDR focused consultation?

No. Consultation that is provided on a clinician's use of EMDR with specific client cases is not eligible for EMDRIA Credit.

I'd like to develop a self-help style workshop that could be useful for both the general public as well as mental health professionals. Can I submit this type of program for EMDRIA Credit?

No, it's not eligible for EMDRIA Credit. Workshop content cannot be designed or intended for the general public. The content must be geared toward the clinical mental health professional audience in order to be considered.
