EMDR Consulting’s Basic Training meets and exceeds EMDRIA minimum requirements. It is designed to give participants all the basic skills they need to integrate EMDR into their clinical practice. Sponsorship and coaching during the training’s practice sessions and subsequent consultation, whenever possible, will be provided by local EMDRIA Approved Consultants trained by EMDR Consulting’s Basic Training developer, Roy Kiessling, LISW, EMDRIA Approved Basic and Special Trainer and Consulting. Local support afford the participants an opportunity for face-to-face consultation as well as joining the already existing EMDR community in their area. Registration fees include the basic course and all training materials as well the 10 hours of required consultation. The Basic Training course also offers a sliding scale fee for those working for non-profits as well as those already training, wishing a refresher course.

Part 1 of the training, will teach, through lecture and practice, a comfortably paced learning process, starting with the easiest and most contained processing strategies, built around the client’s core belief schema. Participants will practice four different stabilization strategies, useful in preparing the client for processing.

Part 2 is scheduled approximately 6 weeks after Part 1, giving the participants ample time to learn and integrate the basic procedures before being introduced to the full EMDR standard protocols and procedures. Consultation is included in the fee for the training. Additionally video and audio DVD’s of the Basic Training Course are included to afford participants the opportunity to continue learning, not only between Parts 1 & 2, but also as a review after they have completed the entire training.
