When the World Stops: How to Help Survivors of Violent Crime with EMDR Therapy

Approved for 3.5 EMDRIA Credits


This workshop will strengthen clinicians in their ability to work effectively with survivors of violent crime. Through lecture and practice, clinicians will develop their skill at utilizing the 8 phases of EMDR therapy and the recent events protocol prepare and process their trauma. Topics include how to ethically navigate the legal system, case conceptualization and extended resourcing to prepare for legal meetings prior to processing, assisting clients with powerlessness and inappropriate responsibility through specific preparation tools and effective cognitive interweaves.
