Gulf Coast States Trauma & EMDR Therapy Symposium


A 2-day symposium will be presented to help support all trauma therapists and with a special emphasis on EMDR trained therapists. Enrollment can be for one or both days. Both days are limited to Master's degree or higher trained therapists. Friday, January 29th is open to non-EMDR trained therapists who focus on trauma-related issues with their clients. Saturday, January 30th is open to partially and fully EMDR trained therapists. The goal is to provide additional training in the application of EMDR therapy for specific populations. Each workshop will be introductory for the population discussed.
The following workshop sessions have been approved for EMDRIA Credit: 
  • Understanding Dissociation in Complex Trauma Cases: An Introduction - Jean Hawks, Ph.D.
  • Ethics in Action: Working with Trauma - Debra Carr, MA, JD, LPC, LMFT
  • Equine Assisted Psychotherapy: Two Models and Its Use with EMDR Therapy - Nancy Goldman, PMHCNS-BC
  • EMDR in the Comprehensive Treatment of Addiction - Alexis Polles, M.D.
  • Eating Disorders and EMDR: Utilizing Art Therapy - Marie Rothman, MS, NCC, LPC
