Early EMDR Interventions

Approved for 3.5 EMDRIA Credits

Natural disasters, community violence, terrorism, and accidents can and do happen in our own communities every day. EMDR clinicians must be prepared to respond. Maxine Trent has helped facilitate the EMDR Disaster Response after last year's tragic fertilizer plant explosion in West, TX, and she is currently working to establish a Trauma Response Network in Texas. Participants will learn more about the neurobiology of trauma and will be given an overview of EMDR Early Intervention Protocols. Participants will learn to distinguish the protocols and determine which is best suited for particular clients and various settings. Specific focus and practice will be given to E. Shapiro and B. Laub's Recent Traumatic Events Protocol (R-TEP). Clinicians will participate in a practicum using the R-TEP model at the end of the seminar
